Bespoke events to entertain your clients

Dear Friends,
Today I want to talk about creating bespoke social events for entertaining your top clients. Nothing impresses a client like taking the time and trouble to create a special social event for them. But it’s really important to find out your client’s likes and dislikes before you put in the effort!
The key is listening to the client during your conversations, hearing what they’ve been doing recently and trying to find out what they enjoy and what interests them. Listening is the key skill to building rapport with anyone. So, listen to them, flatter them (subtly), make them feel special and get them away from the golf course.
I’ve spent a lot of time this week creating and designing events… putting together a list of 20 suggestions for my members and their guests/clients, so I’d like to share with you my TOP SIX for special ways to entertain your clients:
ONE: Theatre & Dinner – Why not combine front row tickets to a marvellous sell out show, and then on to dinner at one of the fashionable restaurants in London’s Theatreland.
TWO: Opera & Dinner – More highbrow than just dinner and a show – You could hire a private box at Glyndebourne or drink champagne on the lawn (weather permitting) and dine at the Glyndebourne restaurant. This is a very special event that will tell your client that you’ve thought about giving them a very special experience.
THREE: The Club – Impress your client by inviting them to join you as a guest at an exclusive Members’-Only club. Not a member? Well, that’s too bad.
FOUR: Sport Event – Tickets to the Cup Final? Centre Court at Wimbledon? Ladies’ Day at Ascot? Henley Regatta? Polo? Find out what sport your client loves and take them for a memorable sporting day.
FIVE: Cowes Week – During Cowes Week, you could hire a luxury yacht and take them sailing around the Isle of Wight. Champagne on deck followed by dinner in one of Island’s finest restaurants. In fact, why wait for Cowes Week?
SIX: Chopper Ride – Impress your client with an amazing helicopter ride over the City of London. Be sure to check that they’re okay with the idea first. In fact, if you’re in the property business, why not fly your clients over a property rather than walking them around it. Could you arrange to pick them up from the helipad at their hotel? Very swish!
I hope you find some inspiration here. Call me if you’d like some more.
Kind Regards
Kim Rix
