Andy Murray’s epic 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, 7-6, 6-3

Dear Friends,
We’re into the second week at Wimbledon and there’s still a British player in the competition! Andy Murray may make it to the Finals at the Lawn Tennis Association this weekend, but even casting national pride aside, if you’re a tennis lover it’s going to be an exciting weekend of tennis.
Maybe you’ve got tickets for Centre Court or you’re planning to picnic on Henman Hill or Murray Mound – whichever you call it. Or perhaps you’re thinking of hosting your own Wimbledon parties, so I thought I’d offer some interesting facts about the Wimbledon tournament, to stimulate conversation at this weekend’s parties and other Wimbledon-inspired social events and activities.
WIMBLEDON FACT 1: First off, and probably something you’ll be tucking into yourself this weekend, an average of 27,000 kilograms of strawberries are consumed each year on the Wimbledon premises. Serve them in a glass dish with cream and cracked black pepper grated over them for the fullest taste.
WIMBLEDON FACT 2: This year visitors to the tournament will sip their way through around 12,000 bottles of champagne. That should give you carte blanche to open ‘one more’ bottle this weekend!
WIMBLEDON FACT 3: Onto the game, did you know that the outspoken and enigmatic John McEnroe was the last player to win the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Title with a wooden racket? The modern racket (sometimes spelt racquet) is made of a graphite and carbon combination.
WIMBLEDON FACT 4: Over 150,000 glasses of Pimm’s will be enjoyed over the Wimbledon fortnight. The tradition of drinking Pimm’s at the tournament only dates back to 1971, but it’s become a firm favourite at Wimbledon. Here’s a suggestion for how it should be served. Get a highball glass and toss in some ice. Add 1 part Pimm’s and 3 parts lemonade. Garnish with mint, cucumber and strawberries. Perfect.
WIMBLEDON FACT 5: Andy Murray’s epic 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 match against Stanislas Wawrinka holds the current record for being the latest match to ever be completed at Wimbledon, with the final point being won at 10:38pm. Of course, this was entirely due to the new roof that allows play to continue after dark and in bad weather.
So, crack open the bubbly, and get the barbecue ready for the weekend, because this sunny June/July heat wave is set to continue!

Thank you for generating a very informative website. The Spa & Wellness Industry has grown rapidly over the last 10 years all marked by increased focus on physical welfare and a good mind. But since the financial downturn showed its ugly face late in 2007 and 2008 proved to be a catastrophic year this industry (along with many others) got into hot water and many small operations closed or are about to do so here in 2009. The situation is not new. When the demand for pigs is increasing farmers shift from other productions and concentrate on the new possibilities until the total production is larger than the demand and the result is well known; a severe drop in the prices with serious consequences. Too many business owners (mainly small) have limited understanding of the basic princip0les for doing business that will result in a nice return on investments. So the questions of proper marketing, how to get the clients and how to keep them loyal to your products become essential and you need to have the answers. There is however another platform to work from; New ideas! Creative and different ways of promoting this business. I know that it is easier said than done but in these turbulent times a hard homework is part of the solution of how to get on with the business.
