New Year’s Eve Parties – What’s On in London
Nov 17th, 2009 by savvyclub
Dear Friends,
Where has 2009 gone? Yes, it’s that time again to consider what you’ll be doing on New Year’s Eve.
New Year (or Hogmanay) is always a great occasion. Remembering the triumphs of the past year and anticipating the good things to come in the next. Really there is no better way to bring in the New Year than with lots of friends in a great environment. If you are looking for a special place to spend New Year then I have a few recommendations.
Aboard the Silver Sturgeon
The Silver Sturgeon, run by Woods River Cruises, is a top class venue to toast in the New Year! The six and a half hour charter takes you along the Thames, giving you one of the best views of the London eye fireworks. You’ll enjoy champagne on arrival, a four-course meal, drinks and another champagne toast at midnight. Avoid the crowds around the city and escape onto the river for a luxurious late night cruise.
Dinner at Skylon
Skylon is a ‘destination’ restaurant in the Royal Festival Hall. With floor to ceiling windows and exquisite menus, Skylon is a top Thames-side venue. The New Year Gala is a glamorous affair including sumptuous canapés and champagne, full dinner menu, live music all night and a fireworks display on the river. Another top spot in a prime location in central London.
‘Chic 1930s Elegance’
For a night with real class, I suggest you have a look at Bluebird in Chelsea. This year they are transforming their dining room into an elegant 1930s black tie banquet hall.
Guests will be treated to an exclusive entrance, drinks reception, a seven-course gourmet meal and a champagne toast at midnight. Entertainment is provided by a top-class pianist and jazz singer guaranteeing a ‘seriously fashionable affair’.
Of course all of London’s top nightclubs will be holding ticketed events on New Years Eve if you fancy something a little more lively – although you might want to act fast as several of venues have already sold out.
Kind regards,
