Valentines Parties
Feb 3rd, 2010 by savvyclub
Dear Friends,
I don’t know anyone who needs an excuse to go out and be sociable, but if you do, why not think about throwing or attending a Valentine’s Party!
I know that your first reaction might be a fairly negative one but if you are a couple it’s a great way to spend your night without having to think of something ‘special to do’ and for single people it’s a great way to let loose and maybe even meet someone new!
Parties At Home
If you are planning on throwing a party in your own home then why not look at theming it. Perhaps ask people to dress up as a character from their favourite romantic movie. You can focus as much on friendship as you do on love and plan some fun games to test how much you know each other. You could theme your house like a movie scene or go for the classic red and pink hearts. Present your guests with decadent canapés and cakes or a ‘food of love/love of food’ buffet.
Office Parties
There are plenty of hotels, bars and clubs offering Valentines parties. You can go as a group to a large party or throw a private one for your office. You can keep it simple and enjoy a lovely wine tasting or chocolate making class. Alternatively you can go all out and enjoy a gourmet meal and some dancing.
The Anti-Valentine’s Party
Again you can throw your own or attend one of the many that are springing up across the country! The basic idea is to be as grouchy about romance as possible! Dress down, avoid the love hearts and listen to a mix of the Cure, Johnny Cash and lots of lovely break-up songs from broken-hearted musicians. You can even enjoy some really inelegant food like burgers or chicken drumsticks…and anything with extra garlic!
The Girl’s Night In
There is nothing more enjoyable than a girl’s (or a boy’s) night in. For the ladies – get your friends together, buy a couple bottles of wine or mix some cocktails and throw on your favourite ‘Rom-Com’s or love stories. Top off with chatting ‘til the small hours.
Kind regards
