How about a Cocktail Crawl for your next Social Event?
Mar 9th, 2011 by savvyclub
Dear friends,
As someone who is rather partial to a cocktail or two at the end of a busy week (mine’s a golden margarita please), this unusual event jumped out at me when I learned about it today. Four luxurious cocktail bars of East London, strategically located close enough to crawl from one bar to the next, have teamed up, so that you can gather your friends and make a social event of it: Anise Bar, Threadneedles Hotel – Bond Bar, Pacific Oriental and the Andaz Hotel near Liverpool Street.
I wish I’d heard about it sooner – the cocktail crawl is taking place tomorrow night (10 March from 6 to 11pm) which is pretty short notice for most of us busy folk, however, this social event is just one of many that have been organised for Fairtrade fortnight which doesn’t end until 13 March, 2011, so it’s not too late to join in the fun.
For those who will have to wait until Friday night to party, I thought you might like to try my recipe for “The Margarita – Kim’s Way”. You will need:
- Tequila (use good Tequila – it will taste better!)
- Orange Liqueurs (Cointreau, Triple Sec and Grand Marnier)
- Lime Juice (use fresh and juicy limes!)
- Ice (cubes, not crushed)
- Twist of orange peel
- Salt (optional)
Firstly, take a chilled glass. Place a single measure of tequila, followed by double measures of all three liqueurs and lime juice into your glass. Then, add a few ice cubes. Add a twist of orange peel to garnish.
If you are looking for other ways to involve cocktails in your next social event, you’ll find more ideas here, or call us on 0208 989 4886.
Best,
Kim Rix
