Royal Wedding Weekend: Three Ways To Celebrate in London
Mar 24th, 2011 by savvyclub
Dear friends,
Have you decided yet what to do with your extra days holiday over the Royal Wedding weekend? Are you looking for ways to get a piece of the action that surrounds the Royal Wedding ? At the Southbank Centre, there will be lots going on with a giant TV screen to watch the Royal Wedding itself and a host of wedding themed activities, including actual weddings and dance lessons for that all-important first dance.
For you foodies out there, there will be London’s first dedicated street food festival. Affordable, great value, exciting, ‘fresh as you can get’, ‘eat as you go’ food – you will be able to experience an eclectic line-up of specialist foods – every possible taste will be catered for.
In fact, the Royal Wedding weekend is part of Southbank Centre’s Festival of Britain 60th anniversary celebrations, which will feature differently themed weekends throughout the Spring and Summer, so even if you decide not to stick around for the Royal Wedding weekend, you will still be able to catch the Festival of Britain at a later date.
But back to the 29th April, if street food doesn’t grab you, and you’d prefer to escape from the crowds, how about hiring a classic historic ship for a cruise down the Thames with your friends – Tower Bridge could be arranged to open up exclusively for you as you cruise through – now there’s a way to celebrate the Royal Wedding in style!
But seriously, London will be alive with a host of activities over the Royal Wedding weekend you’ll literally be spoilt for choice – watch Kate and Wills marry, eat delicious street food, learn how to do that first dance, eat more street food, take a river cruise and celebrate the Royal couple….and that’s just for starters!
