Top Shopping Areas When You Are In London

Dear Friends,
If you’re coming to London for the Royal Wedding, no doubt a spot of shopping will feature on your list of things to do whilst you’re here. As most of you know already, London is one of the most exciting shopping destinations in the world. With so many areas to choose from, and with so much to do in London, we thought it would be useful to provide you with some helpful tips on where and when to shop in London.
1. Oxford Street
Oxford Street and Oxford Circus are amongst the most popular of High Street shopping areas of London. With many local favourite fashion and beauty retailers, along with the best vendors of digital media in the city – Oxford Street is a must. Do be sure to visit the area on weekday mornings in order to avoid the crowds. With plenty of quality cafes and coffee stands around – there’s plenty of places to stop for a break during your shop-a-thon.
2. Knightsbridge
With London’s most famous and exclusive department store, Harrods taking up a full city block, Knightsbridge offers the most luxurious and up market selection for all your shopping needs.
Harrods is famed for offering its customers everything from items as simple as pins, jam and tea to more lavish items such LED televisions and diamonds.
Knightsbridge also houses some of the most established and sought after clothing labels in the world – stores including Armani, Dior, Gucci and many more. An area as busy during the week as it is at the weekend – however, with ample Michelin award winning restaurants, and high-end cafes – you can’t help but splash out and relax in style. Don’t forget Harvey Nic’s if you’re looking for alternative to Harrods!
3. Camden Town
If you’re feeling eclectic, and want something a little different then Camden is one of the most diverse treasures of London. A trip to Camden Town will offer you the most distinct shopping experience; there you can buy some of the most beautiful antiques as well as vintage clothing available in the city.
It’s best to avoid Camden Market itself, as the quality is not as great as it could be. Camden Lock Market (note the difference) is your best bet for unique antiques, Persian rugs and vintage clothes. Be sure to visit during the week, as it gets extremely busy during the weekend, due to its popularity with tourists.
Hope this helps on your next trip to London!
Kind Regards
