7 Facts You May Not Know About Ice-Cream
Jun 1st, 2011 by savvyclub
Dear friends,
Are you aware it’s National Ice-cream week? July is National Ice Cream Month and the 3rd Sunday in July is National Ice Cream Day! As it happens, the weather forecast for London looks pretty good for the next five days…20° degrees Celsius rising to 23° by the weekend – that’s warm enough to justify cooling off with a smooth mint-choc ice-cream – don’t you agree? In fact, I heard it’s going to be a hot summer this year so there will be plenty of opportunities to work your way through all your favourite flavours.
Here are 7 facts you may not know about ice-cream:
* Most popular flavour is vanilla
* It takes twelve gallons of milk to make one gallon of ice cream
* It takes an average of 50 licks to finish off a single scoop ice cream cone
* More ice cream is sold on Sundays than any other day
* The invention of the ice cream cone goes back to 1904 in St Louis at the World Fair
* About 5% of people admit sharing their ice creams with their pets!
* If you lined up all the Flakes used in the (manufactured) Cadbury Flake 99′s in a year – they would extend from London to Venice!
Enjoy the sun!
