The FOUR Ts of Giving

Dear Friends,

I’m sure you’re used to me regaling you with helpful hints and advice on how to deal with the various organisational issues around social events. Well, this blog is somewhat different. Last week, I attended an interesting event myself and I wanted to blog about the experience.

The event was called ‘What Angels Want’ and it was about trying to find partners for your business. At The SaVVy Club®, we’re always trying to find ways to improve our business, so this was an important event for us to attend too – in particular, we’re currently looking for partners in sales, marketing, and finance to join our management team.

Anyway, enough about us, the event reminded me of the Four Ts of Giving from Mark Victor Hansen and Robert Allen’s ‘Cracking the Millionaire Code’, a book about growing your business. One of the key elements is about building a team, and the four ways that people can contribute:

They can give TIME, THINKING, TALENT and TREASURE (money).

I regularly offer my blog readers my THINKING and my TALENT too, giving away free advice on social events, and helping people to make a success of their parties or entertaining clients. I suppose all that adds up to TIME as well and time is money, as they say.

How can you affect others, businesses and individually with the 4 Ts? We have a responsibility to give if we can, so what ideas do you have for giving the 4Ts. It doesn’t always have to be charitable, think of the Dragon’s Den. The Dragons regularly invest their time, thinking, talents AND treasures into projects and businesses because they think that they’ll get something back in return.
