Helen's Story

Helen has just sold her business and retrained as a reflexologist - she has been a member of The SaVVy Club® for the past four years. 

“I read an article in the IOD Afterhours magazine. It was a time when I was spending a lot of time in London because of work. I had a lot of evenings in London with nothing to do. So, that’s why I was looking for something to do. I didn’t want to join singles clubs.  I wasn’t looking for a date, I just wanted to be entertained.”

Helen discovered the focus of most of London’s social event clubs was to meet that ‘somebody’ special. Helen didn’t need this; she wasn’t looking for a partner. There were luncheons, dinner dates and other events, but they were all aimed at finding a partner.

“Where could I go out of an evening to a nice event and not have to worry about being myself, or not having a friend or a date?” The SaVVy Club® answered her question. It provided her with what she needed:

“The SaVVy Club was the only opportunity. There’s no stress involved, you know when you turn up, that you’re going to be in good company. It’s not a dating situation.  I’m an independent woman, I want to go out, learn new things, have new experiences, without the whole dating thing lingering uncomfortably in the background. SaVVy’s not like that at all.”

Many of the social events are educational or informative and that appealed to Helen, so she loved the opportunity to visit Shakespeare’s Globe, to get a great ticket and see a fantastic performance of a classic. 

“Of course, you could go by yourself, but it’s not the same as having somebody to turn to in the interval and say ‘what do you think?’ 

Helen feels that The SaVVy Club® offers her the opportunity to get out and experience new entertainment opportunities and develop her social network. 

“If you like going to the theatre, going out to dinner, trying new restaurants and having new experiences, The SaVVy Club offers you the opportunity to do all of those kinds of things in a friendly, warm and welcoming environment”.

Helen found The SaVVy Club® appealed to her most because it wasn’t about meeting a new partner:

“There’s nothing out there that caters for people who aren’t attached, but don’t necessarily want to be attached!” The SaVVy Club® fills the gap!
